In Devon we are extremely fortunate in having one of the most active and well organised veteran golfing associations in England - with 39 member clubs and over 1,600 individual members.
The Devon Men Veteran Golfers Association organises competitions and matches throughout the year including an out-of-season Winter Series. There are a range of Individual Qualifying events as well as team competitions. We play matches against the Devon Lady Veterans, Devon Juniors, Cornish Seniors Golfing Association and our sister organisation, the Association of Kent Veteran Golfers, which was also established by our founder, Gordon Emerton-Court, after he relocated there. A Fixture List can be found in the Fixtures section.
It is the Association's aim to stage competitions at a wide variety of Devon Clubs at affordable prices and our events have the reputation of being very good value. The entry fee normally covers 18 holes of golf, a one course meal and entry into a Two's competition.
The highlight of our Calendar is the DMVGA Emerton-Court Trophy, a very keenly contested County wide, inter-club team knock-out event. Full details of the competition, history, rules and qualification etc., can be found in the Emerton-Court section.
To be a member of the DMVGA, a player should be aged 60 or over and a member of a Devon Golf Club affiliated to Devon Golf Ltd. To participate in any of the DMVGA events players must be a paid-up member of the DMVGA and hold a World Handicap System Handicap Index.
Those wishing to join should seek out their DMVGA club representative, whose name and contact details may be found under the heading "About Us" then "Member Clubs" and click on the appropriate Club
